Medical Student Rotation
The Division of Cardiology at the University of Washington has a very active role in the education of medical students. Students at the University of Washington School of Medicine as well as visiting students from across the country participate in MEDECK 603, Clinical Cardiology and Electrophysiology. Students in this rotation are part of the cardiology consult team at either the University of Washington Medical Center, Harborview Medical Center or the Seattle VA hospital. Students work with faculty, fellows and residents to see patients on the consult service; activities include reading electrocardiograms and observing cardiac catheterizations and echocardiograms. This elective attracts students planning to enter residencies in many disciplines including internal medicine, surgery, family medicine and anesthesiology.
